Minutes of a special council meeting held in the city municipal building,
May 24, 1979.
Present: President of Council Dwain A. Kinghorn, Councilmen Boyd L.
Fullmer, LeRoy S. Quick, and Earl L. Romriell. Attorney Donald L.
Burnett, Jr., and Clerk Vera C. Armstrong. Mayor John 0. Cotant, Jr.
excused because of attendance at a Southeast Council of Governments
meeting.
Meeting called to order at 8:50 p.m. by President of Council Dwain A.
Kinghorn.
Also present were North Bannock County Fire District Commissioners, Patricia
C. Williams, Gary Porter and John H. Whitaker.
Purpose of meeting was to take into consideration an interagency agreement
for fire protection services between the City of Chubbuck and the North
Bannock County Fire Protection District.
The agreement shall be deemed effective commencing the 21st day of May, 1979.
In consideration of the fire protection the North Bannock County Fire Protection
District will appropriate and cause to be paid to the city of Chubbuck, $30,000
per year for a contractural period of one year.
Attorney Burnett said he had been informed by Attorney S. L. Sam Clark that
the county plans to give the North Bannock County Fire Protection District
the four -wheel truck the city is presently using for rural fire protection.
The fire district commissioners said the truck could be used as a credit or
payment towards the fire coverage the city is providing the North Bannock County
Fire Protection District during the eight weeks until the mill levy election.
Councilman Quick moved to accept an offer of North Bannock County Fire
District Commissioners as follows; as an inducement to the City of Chubbuck
entering into this interagency agreement for fire protection services, the
North Bannock County Fire Protection Board offers to sell the GMC diesel
four -wheel truck to the City for no cash consideration but a reduction
in the annual payments under the contract of $2,000 the first year, conditioned
upon the district acquiring title to the truck from the county. Councilman
Romriell seconded motion. All councilmen voted in favor.
The North Bannock County Fire Commissioners reviewed the interagency fire
protection agreement prepared by their Attorney S. L. Sam Clark and Donald L.
Burnett, Chubbuck City Attorney, and stated their approval and signed the
agreement.
Councilman Romriell moved to authorize the mayor and city clerk to enter into
this interagency agreement. Councilman Quick seconded motion. All councilmen
voted in favor.
Councilman Quick moved, Fullmer seconded, with all councilmen in favor, that
meeting adjourn at 9:30 p.m.

CALL OF SPECIAL MEETING
CHUBBUCK CITY COUNCIL
Pursuant to Idaho Code Section 50 -604 and 50 -706, the
undersigned, Mayor and members of the City Council of the City
of Chubbuck, Idaho, hereby call a special meeting of the City
Council to be held at the Chubbuck City Offices, 5160 Yellowstone
Avenue, at the hour of 8 :00 p.m., on this date, the 24th day
of May, 1979. The object of the special meeting shall be to
consider adopting an interagency agreement for fire protection
services with the North Bannock County Fire Protection District.
