HomeMy WebLinkAbout01 30 1979 CM COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES 15 January 30, 1979 Minutes of a special meeting of the council held in the city municipal building January 30, 1979. Present: Mayor John O. Cotant, Jr., Councilmen Boyd L. Fullmer, Dwain A. Kinghorn, LeRoy S. Quick, Earl L. Romreill, Engineer Steven and Vera C. Armstrong. Attorney Donald L. Burnett excused. Purpose of the special meeting is to consider changes in rates of water, sewer, and sanitation, consider annexation Ordinance #194, and study the Land Use Ordinance. Meeting called to order at 8:00 p.m. by Mayor Cotant. Mayor Cotant asked for any corrections or additions to council minutes of January 23, 1979. Councilman Romriell moved to approve minutes of January 23 council meeting. Councilman Kinghorn seconded motion with an unanimous vote in favor. WATER, SANITATION AND SEWER RATES - Mayor and Council did an in-depth study on water rates. Councilman Kinghorn wrote out several cost comparisons on present rates compared to the proposed rates. COMPUTER BID - Mayor Cotant asked council their feeling towards approval of proceeding with computer bids. LAND USE ORDINANCE - Mayor and council reviewed same. It was noted by Councilman Kinghorn that Residential 1 had been excluded from the Land Use District, Chapter,Sections 2-1, sub-paragraph b, page 6, also that side yard requirements had been excluded from Height and Area Regulations~ page ll. Councilman Kinghorn also suggested a reference be added to Height and Area Regulations for symbol N/A on commercial yard width and minimum lot area. Council questioned some land uses in some districts, with no definite changes proposed. INVESTMENT OF CITY FUNDS - City Clerk instructed Mayor and Council that she intends to invest $200,000.00 in Time Certificates of Deposit from the General Fund. Meeting adjourned at ll:O0 p.m. e~a C.
