Minutes of a special council meeting held in the city municipal
building December 7, 1982.
PRESENT: Mayor John O. Cotant, Jr., Councilmembers Becky A. Hopkins,
Dwain A. Kinghorn, Thomas S. Nield, LeRoy S. Quick, Attorney
B. Lynn Winmill, Public Works Director Steven M. Smart and City
Clerk Vera C. Armstrong.
Purpose of special meeting is to have Dave Badten, Boise Homes
report on present construction costs for a city building, to
consider renewal approval of liquor, wine, and beer licenses
for the year 1983, two new temporary business license applications,
and a liquor catering permit.
Meeting called to order at 4:20 p.m. by Mayor Cotant.
RENEWAL OF LIQUOR, WINE AND BEER LICENSES for the year 1983. Police
Department have approved the renewal of licenses to present
holders of beer, wine, and liquor licenses.
Councilwoman Hopkins moved to approve renewal of liquor, wine,
and beer licenses for the year 1983 of the present 1982 licensees.
Councilman Kinghorn seconded motion. All councilmembers voted
in favor of motion.
BUILDING CONSTRUCTION - Dave Badten, Boise Homes, gave the council
a report on current construction costs.
Attorney Winmill informed council of the need for city to bid
the buiding lease on a square foot rental rate.
BUSINESS LICENSE APPLICATION - Karl E. Anderson, Anderson's Landscaping
& Upholstery, 206 E. Chubbuck Rd., has applied for two business
licenses to sell Christmas trees, one location being at Chubbuck
Lumber and the other location on lot south of McKNights.
Councilman Quick moved to approve the two business licenses
to Anderson's Landscaping and Upholstery. Councilman Nield
seconded motion. Vote was unanimous in favor of motion.
CATERING PERMIT - Bill Kalivas, Press Box, 1257 Yellowstone,
has applied for a liquor catering permit to cater a function
for KSEI at the E1 Cielito, December 17, from 5:00 p.m. to
1:00 a.m.
Councilman Kinghorn moved to approve the liquor catering permit
application of Bill Kalivas to cater a function for KSEI at
the El Cielito, December 17, from 5:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Council-
man Nield seconded motion. Vote was unanimous in favor of
motion.
FIRE DEPARTMENT = Santa Claus Candy - Councilwoman Hopkins informed
councilmembers that Fire Chief Bart Parrish has requested
city fund expenditures necessary for Santa Claus visit this
year. Council discussed and were favorable to approve some
expenditure on an economical basis, no figure certain as yet.
Councilwoman Hopkins moved, Quick seconded, with full council
approval to adjourn meeting at 6:25 p.m.

CALL OF SPECIAL MEETING
CITY OF CHUBBUCK
Pursuant to Idaho Code Section 50-604, the undersigned
mayor of the City of Chubbuck, Idaho, hereby calls a special
meeting of the City Council to be held at the Chubbuck City
Municipal Building, 5160 Yellowstone Avenue, at the hour of
4:00 p.m., on this date, the 7th day of December, 1982. The
object of the special meeting shall be for Dave Badten to
report on present costs of construction for a city building,
to consider renewal approval of liquor, wine and beer licenses
for the year 1983, new business license applications, and a:liqu~]~.
