May 18, 1982
Minutes of the adjourned meeting of May 11, 1982 held in the city municipal
building May 18, 1982.
Present: Mayor John O. Cotant, Jr., Councilmembers Becky A. Hopkins,
Dwain A. Kinghorn, Thomas S. Nield, LeRoy S, Quick, Attorney B. Lynn
Winmill, Public Works Director Steven M. Smart and City Clerk Vera
C. Armstrong.
CHUBBUCK PRIDE PROJECT - Mrs. Vola Eldredge reviewed the project kick-off
plans for Saturday May 22, and announced that Karen Jackson and Louise
Willingham would co-chairman the year around campaign. Mrs. Eldredge
stated the city needs a splashy kick-off, with a proposed flyer to
go out and the need for a flyer to go out for each phase.
Councilman Kinghorn invited the chairmen to go out with him and the
Chief of Police to check and spot trouble areas in the city.
Mayor Cotant suggested a get-together meeting before the kick-off,
which was set for Friday, May 21, at 4:00 p.m. with police, fire
department personnel, council and all others involved attending.
Meeting recessed at 8:25 p.m. to attend an awards presentation the
Mayor was making at the E1 Cielito to some young adults for participation
in the saving of a young girl's life, Kristle Merzlock.
Meeting was called to order again at 9:25 p.m.
GENERAL DISCUSSIONS:
1. Association of Idaho Cities Conference in Couer D'Alene.
2. Improving softball and baseball fields.
3. A decision to present Murray Layne a certificate at a retirement
function to be held Thursday, May 20.
Councilman Nield moved, Kinghorn seconded, with full council approval
to adjourn meeting at 10:40 p.m.
