HomeMy WebLinkAbout10 13 2009 CM 153 COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES October 13, 2009 Minutes of a regular council meeting held at the Chubbuck City Council Chambers, October 13, 2009. Present: Mayor Steven M. England, Council members Kent Kearns, Dennis Stoddard, Kermit G. Morrison, Rebecca Ponkow, Attorney Thomas J. Holmes, Public Works Director Steven M. Smart and City Clerk Ron C. Conlin. Meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Mayor England. PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG was led by Mitchell Smedley, Troop #351. INVOCATION was given by John Smedley, Bringhurst Ward, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. APPROVAL OF MINUTES- Mayor England asked for corrections or additions to the regular meeting minutes of September 29, 2009. Council member Kearns moved to approve the regular council meeting minutes of September 29, 2009, Council member Ponkow seconded. Roll Call Vote: Kearns, yes; Stoddard, yes; Ponkow, yes; Morrison, yes. WELL NO. 3 ELECTRICAL CONTROL AND DRIVE UPGRADE CONTRACT - PWD Smart explained why the control panel is needed. PWD Smart stated the low bid from three bidders is $32,100. from Wheeler Electric, Inc, recommending Mayor England be authorized to enter into a contract with Wheeler Electric, Inc. Council member Stoddard moved to authorize Mayor England to enter into a contract with Wheeler Electric, Inc. for Well No. 3 Control and Drive Upgrade, Council member Morrison seconded. Roll Call Vote: Kearns, yes; Stoddard, yes; Ponkow, yes; Morrison, yes. REPORT ON PROJECTS THOUGH OUT THE CITY - PWD Smart reported on the following projects: 1. Hiline Road Project and the Interstate Bridge are integrated and scheduled to be completed by the end of October. PWD Smart stated the traffic signal at E. Chubbuck Road and Hiline is scheduled to be completed by October 30, 2009. Roundabout on Hiline Road and Mountain Park will be poured next week. PWD Smart stated we are hoping the pavement on Hiline Road will be completed by the end of October. Discussion about some problems with Bluebird Street. 155 COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES - (cont.) October 13, 2009 REPORT ON PROJECTS THROUGH OUT THE CITY - (cont.) 2. PWD Smart stated the W. Chubbuck Road - Hawthorne signal should be completed by the middle of November this year. 3. PWD Smart gave a report on Phase 1 and Phase 2, (a & b) NW Sewer Interceptor Project. Discussion about possible times they will go to bid, Phase 1 could possibly go to bid mid December, with Phase 2 going to bid early Spring. CLAIMS - Computer print -out claims presented to Mayor England and Council. Council member Morrison moved to approve the computer print -out claims as presented, Council member Ponkow seconded. Roll Call Vote: Morrison, yes; Ponkow, yes; Stoddard, yes; Kearns, yes.
