Dear Mayor and Council
I recommend that we accept the bid from Western States
Equipment (without trade of Massey backhoe) in the amount of
$72813.48. This bid price includes a 2 cy bucket option specified.
We have a firm indication of receiving a sealed bid of $4000 for
the Massey compared to $3000 bid for trade.
I have also been advised by Western that they have found a
machine on a dealer yard in the midwest that meets our bid specs.
We could expect to take delivery of that machine with a maximum of
3 weeks. Delivery on a new production machine would be
approximately 8 to 12 weeks. Western States has assured me that
there would be no difference in the two machines other than the
manufacture date/year.
I am also gathering information on leases. I'll be able to
report my findings at council meeting.
Thanks~ Steve.
