the Board of Trustees of the Village of Chuhbuck, held in
the office of the Clerk at ll3 Valenty Road, on August 30,
1960.
Present- Davis, Mitchell, Hillman.
Absent-Ward, Frasure and MeDevitt, unable to locate.
?urpose-i)iscussion on purchase of grass seed for Stuart
Park, and other Village business needling attention at this
time.
Called to order 1:10 P.M.
Davis explained to Board that Jim Stuart has agreed to
take over the Park and see that it is plowed, leveled and
reseeded. The plowing is already done. The leveling in now
being done. The work is to be done for ~200.00 if the Village
furnishes the seed. Several prices on seed were studied and
the Board all agreed to purchase the seed from Brennan Hardwlre
in Chubbuck for a price of about $4.26.00 for 600 pounds.
This would be a mixSure of ~40 pounds of Kentucky Blue Grass
and 60 pounds of Clover. Davis also suggested that they
borrow some irrigation pipe to water the lawn with till the
grass gets up good and after that they could flood it.
Water to Fairgrounds- Davis explained that the County is
wanting the Vil~age to take over the booster pump now. He
also explained that we need a safety valve to protect the
pumps,and Parr Electric will install a light on top of the
Tank that wo~ld.turn on_in case of an emergency for a price
of $12~.0~.'~':light would be regulated by a pressure gage
installed in the Fire Station for a safety feature. The
Board all agreed on these safety measures.
Pump Insurance- Dyke's is getting a man from the factory
to inspect and test the new pu~p, and put it in order so
we can get insurance on our pumps.
Sanitation- After discussion it was the decision of the
Board that the residents of Chubbuck would use the County
Dump ground located on Highline road in the Reservation.
We will pay Alameda for t he three months we owe -them.
Whitaker Road- Would require better than ~3,000.00 to
install a water line 1700 feet up that road, and we can not
do anything at this time due to lack of funds.
Windows in the Well Houses- All need fixing. At well no.2
we have some iron grates that can be used and then boarded up
on tha inside. At well no.1 all those windows will have to
be boarded up. Glass is too expensive to be replacing oll
the time so boards will be used.
