~ate~vorks- Stuart Addition - Valenty reported to the Board that in the
Stua~ Addition there exists a Stub Street, that is a A Street that just
goes a little more than a hundred feet for now. Ors~n Watson owns some
land that will eventually be reached by the extension of vhat street, but
for now he wants to build on his property and in order to get water to his
proper~y he will have to dig a trench and lay p~pe for 350 feet from the
main wa~er line. Some of this trench ~ll be on the Stub Street. He will put
in a h inch line so that others could connect on to the same line, if the
Village will pay for the p~pe. Otherv~ise he will only pu~ in a i inch line
and have it for his own use only. ~fter a discussion on the matter the Board
decided that they could not p~ for the a inch pipe as that is private property
they are developing. If Watson wants too, he can lay the I inch line but he
~ill have to sign an agreement with the Village Board that he will not let~
anyone else hook-up on his line.
Stuar% Hook-ups- Just before the new Ordinance raising the price of
Hook-ups from 25.00 to 75.00 went into effect, Coleman Builder's paid the
Village 300.00 for 12 hook-ups on the Stuart Addition. On April 18, 1959
Jim Stuart sent the Village a check for 900.00 for the 36 remaining hook-ups
on the Stuart .~ddition that were not paid for 1;~st fall. In our minutes
on Psge 97, of the Regular meeting of ~cember 9, 1958~ we have a record
of Stuart agreeing to let the $6 hook-ups be collected from the individuals
as they built their houses and had the water turned on~ at the new rate of
7~.O0 per each hook-up. Therefore the check which Stuart sent to the
Village Clerk is not in order and will be returned by the Clerk to
~r. Stuart with a letter of explanation. The Board all agreed on this
matter and instructed the Clerk to car~ out their~rde?.
~eeting adjourned at 5:55 P.~.
