HomeMy WebLinkAbout09 16 2019CITY HALL COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES SEPTEMBER 16, 2019—10:OOAM LOCATED AT CHUBBUCK CITY HALL 5160 YELLOWSTONE AVE. COMMITTEE MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Kevin England, Rodney Burch, Bryan Hall, Stewart Ward, Kent Oram, Ryan Lewis, and Joey Bowers APPROVAL OF MINUTES: June 17, 2019. Mayor England entertained a motion to approve the minutes as emailed. Ward motioned to approve the minutes; Oram seconded. All committee members voted in favor, motion passed. GENERAL BUSINESS: 1. Exterior Concept Plan & Site Review. (Committee will Review and Discuss an exterior concept). Rodney Burch presented a conceptual design of the City Hall site location from four different views. Burch explained that the concept has a courtyard in front, parking in rear, potential pad sites around, and two new streets to provide better access into downtown. The City Hall building faces Linden and will have angled on street parking on both Linden and Burley Drive. Mr. Burch stated that the Chubbuck Development Authority (CDA) had approved funds for land acquisitions and public improvements. This concept will be driven by the market. Architect Meyers Anderson and Jackson Land Design presented an exterior concept and landscape design. Meyers Anderson also had the Committee choose their favorites from a selection of street lamp designs. Kent Oram asked about the affect angled on street parking would have on traffic, and about the current Veterans Memorial located at City Hall. Mr. Burch stated that travel lanes would remain the same width, but the roads would need to be widened to allow for on street parking. Mr. Burch also stated that the Veterans Memorial is planned to remain at what will be the Police Station. Stuart Ward asked if the new street lamps would become a City wide requirement. Mr. Burch stated that it would be a requirement within the proposed downtown area, but not a City wide requirement. ADJOURN: Mayor England adjourned at 10:45.
