HomeMy WebLinkAbout01 Friends, As hard as it may be to believe, another year has come and gone. I love the area that we live in where we get to experience all four seasons with their wonders and challenges. Winter is upon us. I know that snow brings its very own difficulties. The cold and slickness can make travel an adventure and these cold temperatures can challenge the performance of our vehicles. Those that enjoy snow sports and activities are certainly in their element. Keeping the snow off the streets and sidewalks requires lots of work from all of us. Please be aware that our elderly neighbors and others that are experiencing limitations of physical activity may be in need of our help. I love watching this voluntary attitude being demonstrated all over our city. I am a real believer in new years resolutions. I know that many see this as just a flash in the pan. But I see real effort being put in by individuals that want to do and be better. No effort to improve, whether for ourselves or on behalf of others, is ever wasted. I only wish that there was a way to measure the good that is accomplished as effort is put in to improve life circumstances. Set goals and work to achieve them. A clue to helping us all keep our resolutions is remember that a goal not written is only a wish and wishes seldom come true. Write it down, check on it regularly, and make adjustments and you will succeed. Now on a personal note. I want to say thank you to the Citizens of the City of Chubbuck for allowing me to serve you for sixteen wonderful years. Four on the city council and twelve as your mayor. It has not always been easy, but it has always been rewarding. We have experienced so much together, and I believe that we are a better community for all the effort. Working with the department heads and all employees, who are second to none, has made these years fly by with joy and gladness. This is a fabulous city with fabulous people. This city is great because its citizens are great!
