CALL TO ORDER: Mayor England
COUNCIL PRESENT: Dan Heiner, Norman Reece, Roger Hernandez, and Melanie Evans.
STAFF MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Kevin England, City Attorney Ryan Lewis, Public Works
Director Bridger Morrison, Public Works Operations Manager Kami Berger, Building Official
Ron Osborn, Permit Technician Katie Lish, Police Chief Nick Sasser, Human Resource Director
Scott Gummersall, City Treasurer Rich Morgan, and City Clerk Joey Bowers.
GENERAL BUSINESS:
1. Discussion on Chubbuck's Electrical and Plumbing Inspection Contracts with Pocatello.
Councilmember Melanie Evans stated that she had a resident reach out to her and was
concerned about the City of Pocatello cancelling the electrical and plumbing inspection
contract with the City of Chubbuck. Evans stated that she reached out to a
councilmember from the City of Pocatello who had concerns with the way Chubbuck
Staff handled their request for information.
Mayor England stated that he first became aware of this issue when he received a
termination letter dated August 19, 2025 from the City of Pocatello. At that point City of
Chubbuck Staff began looking at options to provide those services.
City of Pocatello Mayor Brian Blad spoke to the City Council and stated that the City
of Chubbuck and Staff had not done anything wrong. He apologized for any
miscommunication or misunderstandings.
Mayor England thanked Mayor Blad. He stated that the City of Chubbuck is
evaluating a variety of options for the electrical and plumbing inspections.
