HomeMy WebLinkAbout12 12 1967 CM 193 Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the Council of Chubbuck, held in the Municipal Building of the City of Chubbuck on December 12, 1967 Present- Hillman, Henry, Buchanan, Underwood and McDevitto Absent- Taylor Called to order-8:00 P.M. Minutes of the last regular and two recessed meetings then read and approved. Bills for month ~re~ented to Board. Motion to approve payment of bills made by Henry, seconded by Buchanan, All in favor. Financial report for past month presented to Council. Ordinance # 72- "InterimAppropriation Ordinance" for 1968 then read in full by Attorney. Motion to suspend the rules, read once in full and twice by title~ made by Buchanan, seconded by Henry. Roll call vote for suspension of rules- Buchanan-yes, Henry-yes and Underwood-yes. Ordinance # 72 then read t~Tice by title by Attorney. Roll call vote for passage of Ordinance # 72, Buchanan-yes, Henry-yes,Underwood-yes. Annexation- Future annexation studied and ~iscussed at length. Motion to give Attorney authority to consult with Ballif and draw up Annexation Ordinance made by Henry, seconded by B~. All in favor. Annexation to include Country Acres, Greener Pastures, Br~coe prooerty at corner of Siphon & Ha~horne, and Railroad prooerty within city limits. Sub-division- Delmar Peters presented a map of a ~rooosed sub-division of his property just outside the city limits. Council decided that they need a plat for further study before any action will be taken for approval. Phone Co. Permits- Hequests and maps for more Phone Co. permits given to Buchanan and he will check with B~llif and see what Ballif says before Council acts on them. Buchanan ia also to ch~-ck with Pocatello to see what fee they charge the Phone Co. for these permits, as ~he Phone Co. gave a verbal refusal to pay Chubbuck an~ fee. State H~way Dept.- Interchange beautification project. There are still no cost of maintenance figures available. Estimate of cost was between $1,000.OO to $1,500.00 per year. Time required to care for project was estimated at 2 days per week for ~ months per year. Buchanan thinks this is too much money to spend here as we need other projects in the city first, such as park facilities. After discussion it was decided that we do not need to approve this project till we have better cost figures. Taylor has done some checking on ~his and we will get this information from him before any action will be taken. Beer & Liquor Licenses for 1968- Hillman asked Hensley if he had any objections to issuing licenses to existing establishments in the City. HenSley had no objections. Beer License at Fairgrounds- Underwood stated that the Cutter Racing Assn. is getting no coooeration from the J C's on using their license at the fairgrounds. Hillman suggested that the City give t~e License to the Cutter Racing Assn. if the J C'S don't want it. After discussion motion was made to grant the Pocatello Cutter Racing Assn. the Beer License for the fairgrounds. Motion was made by Buchanan, seconded by Underwood. All in favor.
