AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CHUBBUCK, IDAHO, ESTABLISHING
THE TIME AND PLACE OF REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS;
AUTHORIZING SPECIAL MEETINGS; REQUIRING PREPARATION OF
MEETING AGENDA; DESCRIBING DUTIES OF THE PRESIDING OFFICERS;
AND PROVIDING WHEN THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CHUBBUCK, IDAHO:
SECTION 1: Regular Meetings. The Chubbuck City Council
shall hold regular meetings on every second and fourth Tuesday
of each month at 8 o'clock p.m. The City Council may, by
unanimous vote at the first meeting of the month, dispense with
the second meeting of that month if it appears to be unnecessary. If
a day fixed for any regular meeting falls upon a day designated
by law as a legal or national holiday, the meeting scheduled
for such day shall be held on a date to be specified by unani-
mous vote of the City Council in the next preceding regular
meeting.
SECTION 2: Special Meetings. Upon call by the mayor or 0ne-hail (%)
plus one (1) of the members of the City Council, the City Clerk
shall give written notice to the Mayor and full Council of a
special meeting, specifying the date, time, place and object
thereof. Members of the City Council may waive prior written
notice of a special meeting in writing, and a member's partici-
pation in such meeting shall constitute a waiver of prior
notice.
SECTION 3: Adjournment. At any time during a meeting,
the City Council may vote tO adjourn. The motion for adjournment
may specify a date, time and place to re-convene the meeting.
If the motion does not so specify, the meeting shall be deemed
adjourned until the date, time and place of the next regular
meeting of the City Council as provided herein. If a meeting
is adjourned to a date, time and place other than those of the
next regular meeting, the agenda upon re-convening shall be the
same as that of the original meeting, and new items may not be
considered except upon call for a special meeting as provided
herein.
SECTION 4: Agenda. The City Clerk shall prepare an agenda
for each regular or special meeting of the Council. The agenda
shall always include a call of the roll, review of minutes of the
Council's previous meeting, unfinished business, new business,
and adjournment. The agenda shall be distributed to all City
Council members, municipal staff attending the Council meeting,
and to the general public. Items listed on the agenda may be
taken up during the meeting in whatever order the Council deems
expedient.
SECTION 5: Presiding Officer. The presiding officer
during council meetings shall be the Mayor. If the Mayor is
for any reason unavailable, the presiding officer shall be
the President of the council; and, if he is for any reason
unavailable, the presiding officer shall be a council member
elected by all members in attendance. The presiding officer
shall maintain order and decorum during council meetings.
He shall state every question coming before the council,

cil members and announce decisions of the council. When the
presiding officer is a council member, he shall vote on all
questions placed before the council. When the presiding officer
is the Mayor, he shall not vote on matters before the council;
but he may veto any ordinance passed by the council, subject
to the power of one half (~) plus one (1) members of the full
council to override the veto as provided by law.
SECTION 6: Effective Date. The rule requiring ordinances
to be read on three (3) separate occasions is hereby dispensed
with and this ordinance shall become effective upon its passage,
approval and publication as provided by law.
