A regular meeting of the Safety Awareness Committee of the City of Chubbuck was held at
10:00 a.m. The changes of the current safety policy was discussed.
A discussion by everyone present included:
1. Input for changes that need to be made to current safety policy.
2. Amendments to be made to current policy.
3. The current policy will be amended and retyped for clarity.
4. A need to reword different sections of safety policy
(Ex: page 3, D-7 "whenever necessary, have injured transported by ambulance")
5. A need to reword safety glass and vest policy. (Ex: #3 "employees shall wear safety
glasses/vest at all times in the required areas and shops")
6. A sign shall be attached to maintenance fence to read: "Safety glasses required beyond
this point."
7. Safety glass policy shall indicate use of safety glasses from the N.E. corner of Quonset
but back.
8. Need to have supervisors / dept. heads report incidents of accidents to safety committee,
including corrective and preventive measures to avoid reoccurrences.
9. New requirement to have certified forklift operators. Class is 4 hours, cost is $55.00 with
onsite training available.
10. Prepare material for Mayor's approval.
11. Individual assignments were given for policy changes. Assignments are to be brought to
next meeting.
12. DeLaina will be making final draft for the review and approval of safety policy.
The next Safety Awareness Committee will be held on January 28`h, 2000 at 9:30 a.m.
