COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
JANUARY 3, 2018 — 6: 00Pm
CALL TO ORDER: Mayor England.
PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG: Lucas Barker from Troop 330.
INVOCATION: Kim Guymon.
COUNCIL MEMBERS PRESENT: Josh Ellis, Annette Baumeister, Ryan Lewis, Melanie Evans, and
newly elect Roger Hernandez.
STAFF MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Kevin England, City Attorney Tom Holmes, City Clerk Rich
Morgan, and Deputy Clerk Joey Bowers.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Council Meeting: August 17, 2016, September 7, 2016, December 7,
2016, January 19, 2017, March 1, 2017, March 15, 2017, December 6, 2017, December 18,
2017. Study Session: June 1, 2016, December 7, 2016, February 1, 2017, March 1, 2017,
December 6, 2017.
Councilmember Lewis motioned for approval of the above Study Sessions and Council meeting.
minutes, with the approved correction to the December 18, 2017 minutes.
Councilmember Evans seconded motion for approval of minutes with correction.
Roll Call: Ellis -yes, Evans -yes, Baumeister -yes, Lewis -yes, motion passed.
CLAIMS:
I - City of Chubbuck claims for January 3, 2018 as presented to Mayor England and
Council.
Councilmember Evans motioned to approve City of Chubbuck claims.
Councilmember Baumeister seconded motion for approval.
Roll Call: Evans -yes, Baumeister -yes, Lewis -yes, Ellis -yes, motion passed.
Mayor Kevin England recognized Councilmember Josh Ellis for his service and hard work.
ADMINISTRATION OF OATH OF OFFICE: City Clerk Rich Morgan administered the oath of office to
elected Mayor Kevin B. England, and Councilmembers Ryan S. Lewis and Roger Hernandez.
GENERAL BUSINESS:
1. Election of Council President.
Councilmember Baumeister nominated Councilmember Lewis to be the Council President.
Councilmember Lewis accepted the nomination.
Councilmember Baumeister motioned to elect Councilmember Lewis as Council President.
Councilmember Evans seconded motion, all voted in favor.
Councilmember Lewis also wanted to recognize and thank Josh Ellis for his hard work and
dedication as a councilmember for the City of Chubbuck, Councilmember Baumeister and Evans
agreed with Councilmember Lewis and expressed their thank you. They also welcomed
Councilmember Hernandez as the newest member of the Council.
ADJOURN: Mayor Kevin England adjourned at 6:16.
