HomeMy WebLinkAbout09 14 1965 CM 117 Minutesof the Regular Meeting of the Board of Trustees of the ViZlage of Chubbuck, held in the Municipal Building of the Village o f Chubbuck on September 1~ 1965. Present- Ward, Htllman, T~iggs and McDevitt. Absent- Underwood~ exc~sed for illness, and Christensen. Called to order 8:05 P.M. Minutes of last regular meeting read and approved as read. State Hiway Dept- Mr. Grunerud explained the State Hiway~s position on landscaping at Interchanges. The State Hiway will install the landscaping and the Village is to maintain it. Motion to direct Attorney to draft a request for minimum landscaping made by Hillman, seconded by Twiggs. All in favor. This will be shrubs, not grass. Petition protesting Box Cars - Petition read by Ward. Parrish explained that this particular Box Car is on property directly behind and south of Zi~erli's Cellar. It is a steel Box Car and there is a Spur Track to the property. Mrs. WmWood asked why Box Cars when Trailer Houses are not allowed on provate property. Long discussion followed. No action by Board as it would take Court Decision to settle this matter. Board could act only if it is proven to be a health hazard, or causes damage to other people's property. Extension of Water Line- Art Fenwick asked if the water line could be extended about 200 feet on West Chubbuck Road as he wants to connect two houses to the system. Motion to extend the line 200 feet now made by Hillman, seconded by Twiggs. All in favor. State Hiway Spe~d Limits- Board gave approval and authorized Ward to sign the propsed plan presented by the State Biway Dept. This will govern the speed limits through the Village on Yellowstone Ave. ~5 mph from Green Triangle north to Parrish Drive, and 35 mph from Parrish Drive north to Biway Ave. Hiway Ave. Repairs- Letter from L. C. Armstrong complaining about needed repairs on East end of Hiway Ave. read and He~sleywill take care of this. Bills for month presented to Board. Mogion to approve payment made by Hillman, seconded by Twiggs. All in favor. Financial report for month presented to Board. Safety Hazard- Hensley reported that one Sf the houses Belva Adolphson moved into the Village is a safety hazard. Twiggs reported that he had inspected the house and it is deflnetely a h~zard. Board suggested that Hensley sign a complaint and let the Court handle the matter, as it is a violation of Ordinance # 60. Chevron Station at Interchange- Hensley reported that a telephone pole is about 6 ft. 8 in. into the designated driveway. Board decided this is a matter for the Phone Co. and the Chevron Ce.to settle between themselves. Fire Dept- After a discussion of needed repairs for the present Truck, and possibility of purchasing a New Truck, the Board decided to look into the matter of purchasing a Tr~ck for the Village, and asked Twiggs to work with Hensley on specs for a new Truck so it can be put up for bids. Building Code Ordinance- Board all agreed that as soon as the citizen's committee approves the proposed Ordinance the Boardwill be ready to adopt it.
