Worsencroft, Chairman of Board, at 135 Ward Drive, Chub~uck, Idaho on April 21, 1965. Present- Worsencroft, Underwood, and Hillman. Absent- Ward, excused for previous committment, and Christensen. Purpose- Discuss Hired Help for Street Dept., Fire Truck, Library, and Water Line on West Quinn Road. Called to order 7:&5 P.M. Street Dept.- Worsencroft explained the need of a hired man for street work. He has talked ~ith Dennis Nugent, a road Dept. employee of Bingham County. Nugent lives in the Village at ~60 Stuart Ave. He would be willing to give up 15 years seniority in Bingham County to work for the Village if he can receive the same wage as he is receiving now, which is $&50.O0 per month. Underwood and Hillman both feel that it should be a $50.00 a month savings to him to work here and not ~ have to drive back and forth every day. He has a good credit reference fnom the Pocatello Credit Bureau, and a good character reference from Bingham County. Board~ decided to meet with Nugent Saturday, April 2L, 1965, at 3:00 P.M. at the Green Triangle so that they may question him and work out details of the job, before final ~ecision will be made. Details include work required, hours and days to be worked, and salary to be paid~ if he is hired by Village. Street Repairs- Worsencroft explained that we have a bad break in the pavement by Stuart Park. The decision was to have professional work on this and the Board authorized Worsencroft to go ahead and get some contractors to give him an estimate and he will get the work done by the contractor of his choice. Backhoe- Worsencroft explained that we have more need for a Backhoe than the Crawler Tractor, since the Motor Grader is being purchased by the Village. If we have a backhoe on wheels we can do a lot of our own work on the water lines. We will have to check further and see if we cau trade the Crawler in for a backhoe. Fire Truck- It was the decision of the Board that we see if we can cooperate with Pocate~lo and help fight fires for each other if their fire is in the north and west end of Pocatello. The Board if of the opinion that the present Fire Truck can be repaired to meet our needs. We will have to talk with Snake River Insurance and see what agreement can be reached in regards to repairs for the present Truck. If we cannot work out any ara~gements with Pocatello, then we will contact the County and see if we can work with themm as their new County Shops will be located close and they may house their Fire Truck in the new sh~pd. Library- Portneuf Free Library is looking for a new location as they have outgrown their present location and they may consider a location in Chubbuck. The Board suggested a location at 1~ Highway Ave., on Village property, and they would have adequate parking. They will put up their own building. All the Board is in favor of cooperating with them in any way possible. Water Line on West Quinn Road- The Board decided to have Brennan give them an estimate of the cost of laying a line to Tilmar Seibert place, as he is supplying & houses with water and their well is not too good. Any decision on this will be made later after figures are available, on the cost of such a project. Police Officers- Zt was stated that Hensley has remarked that he wants 2 days a week off, and that he will either get a 5 day week or else he will quit. He also had remarked that he was talking for Lessert too. However, Lessert has not made ~ this remark himself. The Boa~dall commended Lessert for his respect for his elders.' The Board were all in favor of letting Hensley quit if that is the way he feels about his job. The Board does not feel that they should be subjected to threats. Meeting recessed at 9:00 P.M. till further notice if necessary. Chairman of Board ? ~ Village Clerk
