HomeMy WebLinkAbout11 17 1983 CM179 COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES November 17, 1983 Minutes of a special meeting held in the city municipal building, November 17, 1983. PRESENT: Mayor John 0. Cotant, Jr., Councilmembers Becky A. Hopkins, Dwain A. Kinghorn, Leroy S. Quick, Thomas S. Nield, Ron C. Conlin and Public Works Director Steven M. Smart. Meeting called to order at 5:00 p.m. by Mayor Cotant. ORDINANCE # 244 - Application for rezoning by Land Investment, Inc. Mayor Cotant asked the council for ebmments. After discussion it was decided to grant C -1 Zoning west of the canal centerline. Attorney B. Lynn Winmill will draft a corrected Ordinance and it will be read at the meeting of December 13, 1983. CHUBBUCK ROAD STREET WIDTH - Mayor Cotant and Council discussed the width of Chubbuck Road. The comprehensive plan is 80' presently. Mayor Cotant stated the State Project is 66' and we wil'T'pr6ceed At 66' Councilman Kinghorn stated the only way the city should be 80' is to have on street parking. Discussion on how many lanes of traffic 66' would give. Mayor Cotant stated if the City was going to change the comprehensive plan we would have to start at once. Councilman Quick moved to direct the Staff and City Attorney to prepare documents to change street right of way standards in Ordinance #207 for Arterial and Collector classificatin streets to sixty -six (66') and Sixty (60'). Councilman Nield seconded.'All councilmembers voted in favor of the motion. VIDEO - Police Department asked for okay to purchase a Video player. After discussion Councilman Nield moved to approve the purchase of the video player. Councilman Kinghorn seconded the motion. All councilmembers voted in favor of motion. RADIOS - The police department and the fire department have asked to purchase four radios a piece. Councilman Nield asked if they were budgeted. It was decided they were. After discussion Councilman Kinghorn made motion'to direct the Fire Department to purchase 4 radios and for the Police Department to purchase 4 radios. Councilwoman Hopkins seconded the motion. All councilmembers voted in favor of the motion. 161 COLLECTION SYSTEM add l-lastewater Treatment Facilities for the treatment of domestic and industrial waste - agreement. After discussionCouncilman Kinghorn made motion to authorize Mayor Cotant to enter into agreement with the City of Pocatello. Councilwoman Hopkins seconded.'All councilmembers voted in favor of the motion. GENERAL DISCUSSION 1) Light Bars for the Police Department. 2) Garage Doors for the Shop. At 6:55 p.m., Councilwoman Hopkins moved, Councilman Quick seconded, with full council approval to adjourn meeting. /John 0. Cotant, Jr., Mayor Ron C. Conlin, City Clerk CALL OF SPECIAL MEETING CITY OF CHUBBUCK Pursuant to Idaho Code Section 50 -604, the undersigned Mayor of the City of Chubbuck, Idaho, hereby calls a special meeting of the City Council to be held at the Chubbuck City Municipal Building, 5160 Yellowstone Ave., at the hour of 5:00 p.m., on this date the 17th of November, 1983. The object of the special meeting shall be to consider the following: 1) Application for rezoning by the Land Investment, Inc.
