COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
January 18, 1983
Minutes of the adjourned meeting of January 11, 1983, held in the
city municipal building January 18, 1983.
Present: Mayor John 0. Cotant, Jr., Councilmembers Becky A. Hopkins,
Dwain A. Kinghorn, LeRoy S. Quick, Thomas S. Nield, Attorney B.
Lynn Winmill, Public Works Director Steven M. Smart, and City Clerk
Vera C. Armstrong.
Meeting called to order at 7:35 p.m. by Mayor Cotant.
REVISED LAND USE ORDINANCE DISCUSSIONS
Section 1 -5: (d) "Child care center" - definition discussed, however,
decision to leave definition as is.
(q) "Salvage site" definition- at end of definition add "for resale
profit or monetary gain"
(aa) "Vehicle temporary storage site" and (y) "Vehicle repair site"
definitions discussed at length. Minor changes recommended and
Attorney Winmill to draft revised definitions for (aa) and (y).
Councilwoman Hopkins moved to go into executive session on a personnel
matter and possible litigation. Councilman Quick seconded motion.
Vote was unanimous in favor of motion.
Executive session was then held with discussions mentioned in the
motion.
At conclusion of executive session, Councilwoman Hopkins moved,
Kinghorn seconded, with full council to adjourn meeting at 11:10 p.m.
