Minutes of a Special Meeting held at city municipal building, January 13, 1998.
Present: Mayor John O. Cotant, Council members Leroy S. Quick, Steven M. England, Marvin
C. Gunter, W. Dean Wood, Attorney Thomas J. Holmes and City Clerk Ron C. Conlin.
Meeting called to order at 6:35p.m. by Mayor Cotant.
PURPOSE OF SPECIAL MEETING is to go into Executive Session Meeting, as authorized by
Idaho Code 67- 2345(a). Personnel discussion.
Councilman Wood moved to go into Executive Session Meeting as authorized by Idaho Code
67- 2345(a) to discuss evaluation of personnel. Councilman Gunter seconded. Roll Call
Vote: Quick, yes; England, yes; Gunter, yes; Wood, yes.
FIRE DEPARTMENT PERSONNEL DISCUSSION - Mayor Cotant and Council discussed at
length Fire Department Personnel.
No action or final decision was made.
At 7:10 p.m., Councilman England moved to adjourn from Executive Session Meeting.
Councilman Wood seconded. All council members voted in favor of motion.
FIRE DEPARTMENT PERSONNEL CHANGE - Discussion about the following appointments:
Council expressed concern about having to lower salaries to be in line with pay grade.
After discussion it was decided Charlie Dickman's and Merlin Miller's salaries will be
lowered to be in line with pay grade they are working.
Eric King will be the acting Chubbuck Fire Chief.
Charlie Dickman will be the full time Vehicle & Equipment Maintenance Officer
in the Fire Department.
Merlin Miller will be on Chubbuck City Maintenance Crew under Bryan Hall.
Councilman Wood moved to authorize Mayor Cotant 1) to appoint Eric King as Acting
Fire Chief. 2) Charlie Dickman as full time Vehicle & Maintenance Officer for Fire
Department. 3) Merlin Miller will work under Bryan Hall on City Maintenance Crew.
Councilman Quick seconded. All councihnembers voted in favor of motion.
At 7:12 p.m., Councilman England moved, Councilman Quick seconded, wi h full council
approval to adjourn meeting.

CITY OF-CHUBBUCK
Pursuant to Idaho Code Section 50 -604, the undersigned Mayor of the City of Chubbuck,
Idaho, hereby calls a special meeting of the City Council to be held at the Chubbuck Municipal
Building, at the hour of 6:30 p.m., on Tuesday, the 131'. Day of January, 1998. The object of the
special meeting is to go into Executive Session Meeting as authorized by Idaho Code 67 -2345
