HomeMy WebLinkAbout10 10 1967 CM P185185 Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the Council of the City of Chubbuck, held in the Municipal Building of the City of Chubbuck on October 10, 1967. Present - Hillman, Henry, Taylor, Buchanan, Underwood, and McDevitt. Called to order 8:00 P.M. Minutes of the last regular meeting read and a•proved as read. Bills for month rresented to Board. Motion to approve payment of bills made by Buchanan, seconded by Taylor. All in favor. Financial Report for past month presented to Board. Resolution appointing Election Judge and Clerks and Constable plus setting of compensation for said election officials then read by McDevitt. Motion to approve Resolution as read made by Taylor, seconded by Henry. All in favor. Copy of Resolution is at-ached herewith to these minutes. State Highway Dent.- presented plans for landscaping at Interstate 15 and Yellowstone Ave. in Chubbuck, and stated thst the planter guarantees the plants to live for one year. Council asked for a cost figure on operation of maintainance, and Highway Dept. answered that this would need further study before they could give an answer. Taylor requested that Highway Dept. look into other operations similar to this in other parts of the State and report back to the Council at the next regular meeting. Hillman suggested that they also meet with the Chubbuck Lion's Club and prevent their plans to them before final approval as the Lion's Club is interested in this project. Highway Dept. agreed to this meeting. County Acres 2nd Addition Plat- presented to Board for study by Fred Chase. Buchanan stated that he had gone over all the plans and they do meet with City requirements. Council explained to Chase that if they do approve the Plat it does not guarantee that the City can furnish water to them . City will have to check their water supply before any more water lines can be laid in the subdivision. After discussion a motion to accept the plat was made by Buchanan, seconded by Taylor. all in favor. Chase is to-furnish' o furnish the City with a copy of the Plat along with a cony of the Plat of the 1st Addition. Election- Gale Anderson asked who has filed petitions. Clerk answered that R C (BOB) Hillman and Boyd N Twiggs had filed for Mayor and that Gale Y Anderson, Paul S Thom -son and 'Wayne G Taylor had filed for Councilman. Anderson then asked how is Clerk by Instruction of the Council, to have the Ballots printed. After a long explanation by McDevitt the decision of the Council was that the Clerk was to have the ballots printed stating Vote for 1 for Mayor and Vote for 1 for Councilman., Motion to approve this decision made by Buchanan, sec -ended by Taylor. All in favor. Buchanan than stated that he ran for a four year term and he intended to serve the four year term. Past elections were then brought up by Gale Anderson and a long discussion followed, however there was no change made on the Council's decision. Delinquent .'eater Accounts- Belva Adolphson stated that she gave the City a right of way for the water line on her property in the 5400 block of Yellowstone and that said right of way has been dug up for water connections to be shut off because of, delinquincy and that right of way had not been put back into condition as it was before. Hensley stated that right of way was better now than before the digging, and Hillman stated that he had been there with Hensley and that said right of way was in good condition now. She then asked about the water bill against the property. Buchanan stated that the bill would be against the property as stated in the Water Ordinance and that he would check it out and make a recommendation to the Council if after she paid the bill and the Council felt she had any adjustment coming it would be paid to her. She then requested that the Ninutds show that any water accounts on her property that are a month behind in payment be shut off immediately. Council then told her that she is responsible for resorting to the Council whenever any renters move in or move out. If she does not report to Council she is responsible for the water bill. It is further agreed that such city specifications as are available and apply to this work will be conformed to in every detail unless otherwise directed. The grantee's construction forces will notify the grantor or an authorized rep- resentative thereof, and the Fire Department of the anticipated start and com- pletion date of the of orsaid work.
