HomeMy WebLinkAbout12 29 1981 CMCOUNCIL MEETING MINUTES 163 December 29, 1981 Minutes of the adjourned meeting of December 8 held in the city municipal building December 29, 1981. Present: Mayor John O. Cotant, Jr,, Councilmembers LeRoy S. Quick, Dwain A. Kinghorn, Becky A. Hopkins, Earl L. Romriell, Attorney Donald L. Burnett, Jr., and City Clerk Vera C. Armstrong. Meeting called to order at 4:50 p.m. CONSIDERATION OF BIDS ON FIRE TRUCK - Fire Chief Bart Parrish and Captain Cary Campbell were present. Chief Bart Parrish reported to council and mayor the reasons (as nearly as he could discern) that only one fire truck bid was received. After discussion, Councilman Kinghorn moved to table any action on bids of fire truck until an adjourned meeting to be held January 5, 1982 at 4:30 p.m. Councilwoman Hopkins seconded motion. Vote was unanimous in favor of motion. CONSIDERATION OF ORDINANCE REGULATING DOGS, Dog License and Impoundment Fees, etc. - Attorney Burnett presented a rough draft ordinance for city review. INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR ATTORNEY B. LYNN WINMZLL - Attorney Winmill has requested the city offer medical insurance coverage for him on city Blue Cross policy. Mayor and council approved the request. FIRE DEPARTMENT SALARY INCREASE - Mayor Cotant asked for clarification on Fire Department salary and compensation increases. Mayor and council agreed that raise was to be seven percent.
