Minutes of a special meeting of the Mayor and Council
municipal building, November 4, 1981.

Present: Mayor JOhn O. Cotant, Jr., Councilmembers Becky A. Hopkins,
Dwain A. Kinghorn, LeRoy S. Quick and Earl L. Romriell, and City
Clerk Vera C. Armstrong.
Meeting called to order by Mayor Cotant at 7:15 p.m.
CANVAS OF ELECTION RESULTS - The election held November 3, 1981 was for
election of a mayor and two councilmembers for four year terms. The
ballot box holding the supplies was unlocked and the sealed envelope
containing Tally Book, Election Record and Poll Book, used ballot pads
plus pad with first unused ballot was opened. Mayor and Council check-
ed Election Record and Poll Book, Combined Tally Lists and Official Record
Book and ballots and ballot pads.
After a thorough canvas of the election records, Councilman Romriell
moved to accept the tabulation of votes as prepared by the Election Judge
and Clerks and proclaim the results as final. Councilwoman Hopkins seconded
motion, with an unanimous vote in favor of motion.

Councilman Kinghorn moved, Quick seconded with full council approval
to adjourn meeting at 7:45 p.m.
