COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
April 21, 1981
Minutes of the adjourned council meeting of April 15 held in the
city municipal building April 21, 1981.
Present: President of Council Dwain A. Klnghor..n, Councilmembers
Becky A. Hopkins, LeRoy S. Quick, Earl L. Romreill, Attorney Donald
L. Burnett, Jr., Engineer Steven M. Smart and City Clerk Vera C.
Armstrong. Mayor John O./£oSant, Jr. excused.
Meeting called to order at 5:40 p.m. by President of Council Kinghorn.
President of Council Dwain Kinghorn stated the purpose of meeting is
to further consider bids for a complete electrical package for
the shop.
Attorney Burnett advised council that they may reject bids and
obtain the same thing as what has been bid for in the bid. The
council would need to pass a resolution, reject all bids, and go
to the open market for a complete electrical package for shop.
Attorney Burnett further advised council the city could not break
up materials and services or labor without first advertising for
a bid in this manner.
After a thorough consideration of bids, Councilman Kinghorn moved
the City accept Falls Electric Company's bid of $9,150.00 and authorize
the mayor to enter into a contract with Falls Electric Company,
providing the electrical panel to be used is Square D. Councilwoman
Hopkins seconded motion. All councilmembers voted in favor of
motion.
Councilwoman Hopkins moved, Quick seconded with full council approval
that meeting adjourn at 6:15 p.m.
