COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
March 16, 1989
Minutes of a special meeting held in the city municipal building,
March 16, 1989.
Present: Mayor John O. Cotant, Jr., Councilmembers Leroy S. Quick,
Steven M. England, Dwain A. Kinghorn, Attorney Thomas J. Holmes,
Public Works Director Steven M. Smart and City Clerk Ron C. Conlin.
Councilman David A. Landon was excused.
Meeting was called to order at 5:00 p.m. by Mayor Cotant.
PURPOSE OF SPECIAL MEETING is to discuss an offer, to presen~L to
Rodney Parrish, on land to the north of City Offices.
RODNEY PARRISH LAND, TO THE NORTH OF CITY OFFICES - Mayor Cotant and
Councilman Kinghorn suggested the City, present an offer to Rodney
Parrish for the purchase of land north of the City Offices.
Discussion about condemnation of the property, if Mr. Parrish does
not accept the offer the City gives him.
Councilman Quick expressed concern the city does not have a specific
need for the property right now. Mayor Cotant said there have been
discussion about extending City Offices to the north. The City owns
the land north of the Parrish Land.
Council was in agreement, it would be a better situation, if City
bould purchase the land out right.
The property was appraised in November, 1988, the appraisel was
$30,000.00.
Discussion about which location will give fire fighters the best
response. At this time, the present location is the best response,
but, in the future, a location at the City Offices might be better~
Public Works Director Smart said a move from the present locatiQn,~
could effect the City Fire Rating.
City has signed an option with Clark, on property on E. Chubbuck Rd.
that is good until April 1, 1989. The Clark Property cost is
$39,900.00 ak 12% interest.
Rodney Parrish's building on property north of the City Offices,
should be required to be brought to code.
After considerable discussion, it was decided Mayor Cotant will
talk to Rodney Parrish to find out what dollar amount he will take
for the property. If Rodney is asking too much, we will have to de-
cide whether we want to condemn it or forget it.
At 6:02 p.m., Councilman England mo~zed, Councilman Qui~ seconded,

CALL OF SPECIAL MEETING CITY OF CHUBBUCK
Pursuant to Idaho Code Section 50-604, the undersigned
Mayor of the City of Chubbuc~,' I~aho, hereby calls a special
meeting of the City Council, to be held at the Chubbuck City
Municipal Building, 5160 Yellowstone Ave., at the hour of
5:00 p.m., on the 16th. day of March, 1989. The object of
the special meeting shall be to discuss an offer to present
Rodney Parrish on land north of the City Offices.

Pursuant to the call set forth above, notice is hereby
given of a special meeting of the Chubbuck City Council at the
