HomeMy WebLinkAbout006 06 74PLANNING AND ZONING COMMIssION MINUTES Minutes of the regular meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission held in the city municipal building June 6, 197&. Present: Chairman James Branson, Commission members, Allen Martin, Jack Menard, Rodney Parrish and Del Peters. Ed Reese excused. Meeting called to order at 8:00 p.m. by Chairman James Branson. Minutes of May 2 meeting were read and approved. PUBLIC HEARING IT~: Ray Chase, 733 Bonanza, has requested a variance to allow him to sell small merchandise items from his home. The items he plans to sell are flour mills, blenders and small wood stoves. The commission explained to Mr. Chase if he desired to sell these items but not have people come to his home for demon- strations or sell from his home he would be able to do so without a variance Mr. Chase asked if he would be allowed to place a sign in the window of his home. He was informed that by placing a sign in the window would put the business in his home and he could not do so without the variance being approved. Mr. Chase informed council he would not stock items in his home. Councilman Menard moved the commission recommend the council deny this variance request. Peters seconded with an unanimous vote in favor of motion. BARiiii. X TRACTS SUBDIVISION - Attorneys Dale Kisling and William W. Becker were present representing REx Eaton and the Bar X Subdivision plat and requested the commission consider a revised plat for approval. Councilman Menard asked if road running through the subdivision was a dedicated right of way or property easements. Mr. Becker answered they were utility easements only but he felt the owners would agree to have the two main easements dedicated as public right of ways. Jay Nelson, Bannock county engineer was -present. After further discussing the plat presented Councilman Menard moved the proposed Bar X Subdivision plat be submitted to the Planning and Zoning subdivision committee for review. PaRRISH seconded with an unanimous vote in favor of motion. GENERAL - City clerk asked exactly what constituted a bUS~oeSS in the home as an inquiry had came into the office for a photographer to photography strictly at weddings and home appointments. The commission stated if work was not done in the home it would not constitute a business in the home.
