HomeMy WebLinkAbout004 15 74PUBLIC HEARING - PLANNING AND ZONING MINUTES APRIL L~ 197~ Minutes of a special public hearing meeting held in the city municipal building by the planning and zoning commission April 15, 1974. Present: Chairman James Branson, Commission members Allen Martin, Jack Menard, Del Peters and Ed Reese. Chairman Branson called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. Minutes of April 4 meeting approved as read. PUBLIC HEARING - Purpose of the public hearing is to consider an amendment to Zoning Ordinance ~98 to include reception centers among the conditional uses permitted in all residential zones except residential - 1. Del Peters suggested inserting the word consumed in definition paragraph to read --- No such structure shall qualify as..a "reception center" if any alcoholic beverages are sold, served or consumed in said structure or upon the premises. Allen Martin voiced his preference that reception centers be allowed only in residential 3, ~and commercial zones. After the proposed amendment was further discussed Del Peters moved the P & Z recommend the council approve the proposed amendment with the insertion of word consumed in definition paragraph to read --- No such structure shall qualify as a "reception center" if any alcoholic beverages are sold, served or consumed in said structure or upon the premises. Also that the aggregate attendance does not exceed 100 persons when used for meetings of private clubs or public service organizations. Menard seconded. Roll call vote: Martin, no; Menard, yes; Peters, yes; Branson, yes; Reese, yes. Ed Reese moved the meeting adjourn at 9:30 p.m. Meeting adjourned. James//B. Branson, Chairman ~era C.
