Minutes of the regular meeting of the Land USe and Development
commission held in the citY municipal building May 7, 1987.
Present: Chairman Pete Anderson, CommisSion members Bob Anderson,
Evan Byington, Robert Allen, Public~ Works Director Steve
Smart, Secretary Myrna Crapo,~ Council member LeRoy Quick.
Meeting called to order at 7:30 pm by. Chairman Anderson
Chairman Anderson asked for any additions or corrections to the
April' 2 minutes. There being none Robert Allen made motion to
accept minutes as mailed. Evan Byington seconded the motion,
with all commission members voting in favor.
GENERAL BUSINESS:
REVIEW OF~ CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT TO KATHERINE D. WATSON, 4886 Pleasant
View ito operate a day. care center.
Chairman Anderson asked the citY if there had been any compliants
received, there was none. Chairman Anderson then asked Mrs.
Watson if she was complying with all the conditions that had
been set forth.
Katherine Watson informed the commission that she was in compliance
with all of their requirements.
Bob Allen asked Mrs Watson if the restrictions were more than she
.could like with. Katherine Watson stated that they were no
problems.
Robert Allen made a motion to continue the conditional use permit
and relieVe the. condition of an annual review. Bob Anderson
seconded with all voting in favor.
ITEM #2:
STANDARDS FOR THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN in reference to annexing, and
changing of. current zoning to. comply with current conditions.
Chairman Anderson asked the commission to read and review the standards
that Attorney Winmill had proposed and have their questions
ready for next months meeting.
Steve Smart informed the commission .that the comprehensive plan
lacks the standards that we need to refer to and judge
requests by.
Mr. Smart also informed the commission that the county and city of
Pocatello would like us to sign an agreement for the comprehensive
plan land use patterns and~whose standards will take effect in
which area.

Chairman Anderson informed the commission that areas in the city
are zoned one way and actually being used in another way and
that we need to take a look at that zoning; any. changes
would require a. public' hearing.
The commission discussed possible areas that we might take a look
at.
The commisSion targeted these areas for consideration:
Greener Pasture
Paradise Acres
Country Acres
Whitaker Road
Neider Subdivision
Alturas Park
A notice was to be put in the paper for the next meeting stating
that we are looking at rejoning these neighborhoods and we are
having a fact finding meeting. Anyone interested is welcome
to. come.and expreSs themselves.
LeROy Quick made a motion to adjourn at 8:10 pm
