COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
July 13`h., 1999
Minutes of a Special Meeting held at Chubbuck City Council Chambers, July 13`h., 1999:
Present: Mayor John O. Cotant, Council members Leroy S. Quick, Steven M. England, Marvin
C. Gunter, B. Kent Kearns, Public Works Director Steven M. Smart and City Clerk Ron
C. Conlin.
PURPOSE OF SPECIAL MEETING is to have Chubbuck Pride Committee update Council on
Chubbuck City Celebration "Fifty Years ".
Chubbuck Pride Committee Chair Person Mary Harker, Crystal Douglas and Teresa
Strieber were present, to present the Agenda.
Mary Harker gave an overview of activities and status of committee.
1. Ribbon categories chosen by the. Fire Department.
2. Meals are being done by the following:
a) Friday Evening - Connie Andriotti - Barbecue Dinner.
b) Saturday Morning Breakfast - Lions Club, though not confirmed.
c) Saturday Afternoon - Concession Stand will be shared by Figaro's Pizza and
Sam's Doughnut Shop, possibly Geraldine's Bake Shop.
Other vendors are signing up for food booths of various sorts, (ice cream, bread,
etc.) They will be placed in the nearby, NW field.
Council gave approval of a payment of $200.00 for a band, "Reputations" to play for two
hours Friday evening. Discussion about time the band will start.
The Idaho State Journal will do public service ads for free advertizing the event. A budget
will be approved for advertising. Amount will be discussed.
Request that Larry Miller provide extra garbage cans to the park to ensure better clean up.
The Bannock County Inmates are scheduled to clean the park, Monday, August 16'.
Mayor Cotant and Council will ride in the parade. Discussion about names of individuals
that will be asked to participate in the parade.
Discussion about Awards Ceremony Friday evening
Discussion Publicity Time line for the Chubbuck City 500. Celebration.

informing them of the celebrations and opportunity to get involved in the activities and/or
parade.

Mayor Cotant and Council thanked Mary Harker, Teresa Strieber, Crystal Douglas and all
Chubbuck Pride Committee for all their efforts.
At 7:12 p.m., Councilman Quick moved, Councilman Gunter seconded with full council
approval to adjourn meeting.

CITY OF CHUBBUCK
Pursuant to Idaho Code Section 50 -604, the undersigned Mayor of the City of Chubbuck,
Idaho, hereby calls a special meeting of the City Council to be held at the Chubbuck Municipal
Building, at the hour of 6:00 p.m., on Tuesday, the 13th.,. day of July, 1999. The purpose of
Special Meeting is to update Council on 1999 Chubbuck Days..
