COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
August llth., 1998
Minutes of a Special meeting held at Chubbuck Municipal Building, August 114., 1998.
Present: Mayor John O. Cotant. Council members Leroy S. Quick, Steven M. England, W. Dean
Wood, Attorney Thomas J. Holmes, Public Works Director Steven M. Smart and City
Clerk Ron C. Conlin. Council Marvin C. Gunter was excused.
Meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Mayor John O. Cotant.
PURPOSE OF MEETING is to discuss 1998-99 Fiscal Year Budget.
1998-99 FISCAL YEAR TENTATIVE BUDGET - City Clerk Ron Conlin presented the 1998-
99 Fiscal Year Tentative Budget.
City Clerk Conlin explained after receiving the Parks Projected Budget, and receiving
more monies from Eastern Power County Fire District than originally projected, it will
take the projected carry-over of $18,350. from 1997-98 Fiscal Year Budget to balance the
1998-99 Fiscal Year Budget.
Discussion of ways to balance the 1998-99 Fiscal Year Budget
1. Eliminate 1% of total budget requested by Department Heads.
2. Eliminate % of salaries increase to employees.
3. Employee pay a portion of health insurance premiums.
City Clerk Conlin stated this projected 1998-99 Tentative Budget, if approved, will be
published in Journal two times, once each week in the following two weeks. The public
hearing on the 1998-99 Fiscal Year Budget will be conducted August 25% 1998.
At 7:28 p.m., Councilman Quick moved, Councilman England seconded, with full council
approval to adjourn meeting.

CITY OF~HUBBUCK
Pursuant to Idaho Code Section 50-604, the undersigned Mayor of the City of Chubbuck,
Idaho, hereby calls a special meeting of the City Council to be held at the Chubbuck Municipal
Building, at the hour of 6:00 p.m., on Tuesday, the 1 lth., day of August, 1998. The purpose of
the special meeting is for Chubbuck City Council to discuss the 1998-99 Fiscal Year Tentative
Budget.

Pursuant to the call set forth above, notice is hereby given of a special meeting of the
Chubbuck City Council at the time and place, and for the object, recited in the call.
