HomeMy WebLinkAbout04 27 1999 CMC COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES April 27`h., 1999 Minutes of a regular meeting held at the Chubbuck City Council Chambers, April 27"'., 1999. Present: Mayor John O. Cotant, Council members Steven M. England, Marvin C. Gunter, B. Kent Kearns, Attorney Thomas J. Holmes, Public Works Director Steven M. Smart and City Clerk Ron C. Conlin. Councilman Leroy S. Quick was excused. Meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Mayor Cotant. PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG was lead by Clerisha Bybee. APPROVAL OF MINUTES - Mayor Cotant asked for corrections or additions to the Regular Meeting Minutes of April 13`h., 1999, and Special Meeting Minutes of, April 20% 1999. Councilman Kearns moved to approve Regular Meeting Minutes of April 13'., 1999 as read, with typo and spelling errors corrected. Councilman Gunter seconded. All council members present, voted in favor of motion. Councilman Kearns moved to approve Special Meeting Minutes of April 20'., 1999 as read. Councilman Gunter seconded. All council members present, voted in favor of motion. PROCLAMATION - "POPPY DAYS AND POPPY MONTH" - Hilda Hudson, 990 W. Quinn Rd., a member of the American Legion Auxiliary was present to explain, Poppy Days and Poppy Month. Mayor Cotant read the proclamation in full. Councilman England moved to authorize Mayor Cotant to proclaim, "May, as Poppy Month, and May 14'. And May 15t''., 1999, as Poppy Days" in our community. Councilman Kearns seconded. All council members present voted in favor of the motion. BUSINESS LICENSE APPLICATION - Arthur C. Fougler, 555 1/2 Pershing, Pocatello, Idaho, Doodle Dandy Ice Cream has applied to sell ice cream from his truck on City Streets. Police Department recommended approval of a business license to Arthur C. Fougler, Doodle Dandy Ice Cream. Councilman Gunter moved to grant a business license to Arthur C. Fougler, 555 1/2 Pershing, Pocatello, Idaho to sell ice cream from his truck on City streets. Councilman England seconded. All council members present voted in favor of the motion. 67 COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES - (cont.) April 27h.,1999 PROCLAMATION - "MOTORCYCLE AWARENESS MONTH" - Councilman Gunter read proclamation in full. Councilman Kearns moved to authorize Mayor Cotant to proclaim the Month of May, 1999 as "Motorcycle Awareness Month ". Councilman England seconded. All council members present voted in favor of motion. PROCLAMATION - "NON- VIOLENCE IN SCHOOL MONTH" - Mayor Cotant read proclamation in full. Councilman Gunter moved to authorize Mayor Cotant to proclaim, the month of May as "Non- Violence in School Month ". Councilman Kearns seconded. All council members present voted in favor of motion. ACCEPTANCE OF OFFER OF DEDICATION - PWD Smart stated, the following are Acceptance of Offer of Dedication Instruments that should be accepted by the Council: 1. Cottage Grove Subdivision Final Plat. 2. Cottage Grove I". Addition Final Plat. 3. Diamond Court Subdivision Final Plat. 4. Kasiska Subdivision Final Plat. 5. Hiline Heights Subdivision Final Plat. 6. Frasure Industrial Park Subdivision Final Plat. 7. Heritage West 5`h. Addition Subdivision Final Plat. 8. Misti Manor Subdivision Final Plat. 9. Misti Manor 2 "d. Addition Subdivision Final Plat. 10. Nelson Subdivision Final Plat. 11. Ranae Subdivision Final Plat. 12. Rachel's Rainbow PUD Final Plat. Councilman England moved to authorize Mayor Cotant, to accept the Offer of Dedications from the proceeding twelve Final Plats. Councilman Gunter seconded. All council members present voted in favor of motion. CLAIMS - Computer print -out claims presented to Mayor Cotant and Council. Councilman Kearns moved to approve computer print -out claims as presented. Councilman Gunter seconded. All council member present voted in favor of motion. :• COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES - (cont.) April 27t., 1999 BUSINESS LICENSE APPLICATION - Jim Smith, Frankie's Fast Track, 1108 Linwood Ave., Tumwater, Washington has applied for license to operate a Go Cart business at the Wal- Mart Parking Lot. Councilman England moved to grant Jim Smith, Frankie's Fast Track, Wal -Mart a business license to operate a go cart business on the Wal -Mart parking Lot, subject to; 1) Police Department approval. 2) Presenting a copy of required insurance certificate, with City of Chubbuck listed as additionally insured. Councilman Gunter seconded. All council members present voted in favor of motion. At 8:11 p.m., Councilman England moved, Councilman Gunter seconded, with full council , approval to adjourn meeting.
